Matthew 2:11 (NLT): “They entered the house and saw the child with Mary his mother, sitting on the floor and worshiping him. Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.”

In this wonderful Christmas season we look back and recall the event that changed everything. God steps into human affairs because He knows only Jesus can restore order to our broken world. He prepared Jesus birth and death for this very purpose. It started with prophecy and God stayed faithful delivering the good news. He named Him Jesus meaning Jehovah is salvation because He came to save us from sin.

The Hunger to Seek

The wise men saw a great revelation in the star. They said to themselves now let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened. This subtle truth should strike our hearts as we celebrate Christmas the hunger to seek Christ. These wise men grew hungry and determined to seek Him. They were not satisfied with Herod’s greatness because they knew the star pointed to something bigger than any earthly kingdom. Nothing satisfied them until they found the baby in the manger.

Many draw back from seeking Christ lured by the world’s temporary comforts that stop us from pressing on. We desire to know God more but often lack the hunger to seek Him with our whole life.

Jeremiah 29:13 (NLT): “If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”

Genuine revival demands a genuine desire to seek God and He is faithful to fulfill His promises. The wise men could not end up dining with Herod because a fire of revival burned inside them unquenchable by worldly joys. They pressed on to find the Savior. Are you still seeking or growing tired? Our satisfaction is in Christ Jesus alone. Without Him we cannot live a purposeful life.
Paul boldly asked what can separate us from the love of Christ (Romans 8:35-39). Let us go on and seek like the wise men. It is wise to hunger for Him to know Him to crave His presence to pursue His truth. God calls the thirsty.

Isaiah 55:1 (NLT): “Is anyone thirsty? Come and drink—whether you have money or not! Come, buy milk and food to your heart’s content—free of charge.”

Brethren are you thirsty? Are you satisfied with your relationship with Christ? Does your heart yearn to know Him more? This Christmas is the time to seek Him. Paul declared in Philippians 3:10 that I may know Him.
There is more to discover in Christ endless benefits await. Seek an encounter that strengthens you in Him and makes you dead to sin. The Christ you seek has power to transform you carrying His glory.
Christmas reminds us yet again like every day of Christ’s birth whose sole purpose was to die for our sins. What a privilege that light has come as saving grace for those in darkness

John 1:5 NLT: “The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it”

This season calls us to check ourselves are we still walking in the light or have we drifted from faith denying His power?
