Made Alive in Christ

"And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience." Ephesians 2:1-2

What distinguishes the living from the dead is the substance called life. God made it so important that He proved His great love towards us; He does not merely harbor good intentions for us in silence. Instead, He translates His heart's desire into Christ Jesus to demonstrate how immeasurably great His love is and to redeem us from the sin that causes eternal death. By this love, He has given us victory through faith in Christ Jesus.

"For whatever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world, our faith." 1 John 5:4

The Active Nature of Divine Love

God’s active love reflects His primary nature as a Giver. The ultimate evidence of this divine pursuit was demonstrated at Calvary, where Jesus fulfilled His part of the covenant by laying down His life to rescue us. This was the moment "God with us" became "God for us," dismantling everything that separated us from His love and defeating the captivity of sin.

Through this supreme sacrifice, God did not just declare His intentions, He proved them, establishing a secure foundation so that we might be made alive in Christ and experience eternal intimacy with Him. This unique quality of life bestowed upon us by God is what truly separates the living from the dead. This eternal life stands in absolute opposition to the existence offered by the enemy; while one has come to impart life, the other seeks only to destroy it.

"The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows]." John 10:10 (AMP)

Understanding the Opposition

When one turns away from light into darkness, it is not a random event. The book of Ephesians exposes the power behind this movement:

“You used to live in sin, just like the rest of the world, obeying the devil—the commander of the powers in the unseen world. He is the spirit at work in the hearts of those who refuse to obey God.” ‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

These powers, the world influence and the power of the unseen world (Satan), are actively working even to this day to cause unbelief in the hearts of many. They drive those who fight against the name of Jesus. When you see an intense irritation at the mere mention of the name of Jesus, understand that it is deliberate. It is a tactical move to keep souls trapped in the kingdom of darkness, ensuring they are not just lost, but held captive in death.

There is a concerted spiritual effort to keep people from the power of Grace. These powers work relentlessly to trap people in their own pride, blinding them to the truth.

"Among them the god of this world [Satan] has blinded the minds of the unbelieving to prevent them from seeing the illuminating light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God." 2 Corinthians 4:4

Secured in His Power

When the Scriptures describe the work God accomplished by delivering and rescuing us from the chains of this world and its prince, they reveal a profound transition from death to life : we have been made alive in Christ.

It is essential to understand this because the very same divine power that rescued us from these demonic chains is also fully capable of keeping and sustaining us securely in Him until the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, we are not scared of the empty threats or deliberate acts of the dark world's demonic powers. He who has called us out of darkness and into His marvelous light possesses the absolute authority and capability to keep us preserved in the light of His salvation. We can absolutely trust in Him and by His grace we are saved.

"Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling or falling into sin, and to present you unblemished [blameless and faultless] in the presence of His glory with triumphant joy and unspeakable delight." Jude 1:24 (AMP)
