"Jabez cried out to the God of Israel, 'Oh, that you would bless me and enlarge my territory! Let your hand be with me, and keep me from harm so that I will be free from pain.' And God granted his request."
1 Chronicles 4:10
Every believer longs for a season of increase—a time when God brings multiplication, speed, and mercy into every area of life. Scripture shows that seasons of bountiful harvest are unlocked through divine principles. When believers align with these keys, God takes what seems small and turns it into overflow.
- Separation Precedes Expansion: In Genesis 13:14, God spoke to Abram only after Lot had left him. Some things or people must leave before God's full promise can manifest. Letting go may be difficult, but it clears one's vision to see the vastness of what God has prepared—northward, southward, eastward, and westward.
- Sacrifice Unlocks Overflow: In 1 Kings 17:11-16, the widow of Zarephath gave her last meal to the prophet, and God multiplied her resources for the rest of the famine. Similarly, in 2 Kings 4:3-6, the widow's small jar of oil filled many vessels when she obeyed God's instruction. Increase answers to obedience and sacrifice. What looks small in one's hands becomes mighty when laid at the Master's feet.
- Honor Those Ahead of You : A key to increase is honoring those who have gone before. God uses pioneers—like Joseph, who rescued his family during famine—to open doors for others. These forerunners are not competitors, but vessels for collective breakthrough. To honor them is to receive grace through their obedience; to despise them is to miss a God-given opportunity. Celebrate those who have already unlocked pathways, and step confidently into the doors they've opened.
- Be Willing to Move Forward : In Deuteronomy 1:6, God told Israel, "You have stayed long enough at this mountain." Increase requires motion—new steps, faith, and obedience. Comfort zones may feel safe, but they can stop a person from entering new seasons. Movement brings greater territories.
The Four Keys Summarized
- Something or someone may need to leave before expansion can begin.
- Sacrifice is the seed that unlocks a new season.
- Honor attracts grace for overflow—Joseph is a living example.
- Movement is the step that breaks stagnation.
When these keys come together, the season of increase is inevitable. God multiplies what is available, accelerates what seemed delayed, and grants mercy that surpasses human effort.
Your season is here. Lift your eyes like Abraham, release your sacrifice like the widows, honor those whom God has raised before you, and move forward in faith. For the Lord of the Harvest is ready to bring you into your season of increase.
